Kirsten wins the 2008 John B. Muir Editor Award from the National Association for College Admission Counseling!

Just announced, Kirsten’s article, “Hyperventilating: The Concerted Cultivation of the Teenager” (see article link in “Excerpts From Her Writings”) has been awarded the 2008 John B. Muir Award from the National Association for College Admission Counseling. The essay was cited for its timely and significant treatment of the current “cutthroat” college admissions environment and “exemplifying the excellent writing it strives to publish.” Chosen by the editors, the John B. Muir Award is for the article that has made the most significant contribution to the Journal during the past year. Kirsten will receive this award in Seattle, WA on September 29, 2008.
